South Tech Academy provides an opportunity for high school students to train for careers in the residential home building industry.  Our school-to-work curriculum features skilled carpentry instruction combined with core academics, preparing each student for industry employment and/or continuing postsecondary education.

Residential Construction

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment or advanced training in the building construction industry.

We train each student to industry standards and certify their carpentry framing skills.  Through multi-dimensional training in the classroom, shop, laboratory, and work site, students get prepared for actual jobs.

Summer internships are available to gain industry experience and apply classroom knowledge.  We also offer employment assistance in the residential construction industry through our Job Placement Coordinator.

All you have  to do is make sure you meet our qualifications and complete an application for enrollment.  Students must have a grade point  average (GPA) of at least 2.0, acceptable discipline records, and a good attendance history.
